Scuba Cat Diving, phuket, Thailand's Resident Platinum PADI Course Director, Christophe Pace:
I started scuba diving in Europe over 20 years ago since then, diving has become my favourite activity. Before working in the dive industry, I used to work as an International Observer for the United Nations in countries such as Mozambique, Cambodia and South Africa. My main task was to implement civil education program, to teach local people how to organize elections and implement Human Rights.
Becoming an Instructor was the best combination of “Teaching and Diving”. My career as an Instructor took me to wonderful places: Mexico, Belize, Honduras, Cayman Islands, Egypt, The Philippines, Sipadan, Indonesia, Vietnam and for the last 9 years in Thailand. The contacts I have made in all these years are very useful for my IDC candidates when they are looking for a job.
Since 2000, I have concentrated on Instructor levels, in 2001 and 2002 I received PADI's prestigious: Outstanding Contribution for Instructor Development Award and in 2003 and 2008 certificates of Recognition for Excellence.
Now, I conduct PADI IDC's in Phuket, Thailand with the Scuba Cat Diving Team and oversee Scuba Cat Diving's innovative Career Development Program and Internship programme

A 12 Day expanded PADI IDC
Although PADI requires an IDC to have a minimum duration of 7 days, at Scuba Cat Diving, Phuket Thailand we have found some extra presentations and workshops highly beneficial to our candidate success. To accommodate these extra presentations we have found a 12-day IDC program more suitable.
Extra workshops during the IDC include:
- Ascents and Descents, Buoyancy control, Buddy Breathing, Controlled Emergency Swimming Ascent, Rescue exercises, student control and scenarios.
- Planning, organizing, scheduling all the PADI Courses in different environments.
- With a relaxed, low stress 10 day IDC you can focus and elaborate on specific topics, review certain parts of the program, give extra time or lectures to our candidates.
- The main focus of our program is to give the best knowledge to our candidates before they start teaching.
- 2 Remedial Days
We added these two extra days to our IDC program to give extra experience to our candidates for the IE and their future career.
The schedule for these two additional IDC days:
- Confined Water Presentation
- Open water Presentation #5 and #6
- Divemaster and Standard exams
- Rescue, Skill practice
- Any topic you want us to cover
Accommodation during your IDC
Free Accommodation in an air conditioned room close to the dive center for all our candidates.

Free Diving at Scuba Cat Diving, Phuket, Thailand
Compared to other dive center's, Scuba Cat Diving, Phuket Thailand owns their own fleet of dive boats! Due to this, we can offer to our candidates free diving before the PADI IDC!
Compared with most "dive centers" in Thailand (a lot of them is just a website - a "Virtual Dive Company") - Scuba Cat owns their own fleet of diving boats and have been in operation since 1994. If you do a Course or a Dive Career Package with us, all your dives will be from one of our own dive boats, not "we got to do a beach dive, 'cause it is not enough students" or from a "last minute rented long tail boat, 'cause all the other boats are full".
